A nut is a hard-shelled fruit of some plants having an indehiscent seed. While a wide variety of dried seeds and fruits are called nuts in English, only a certain number of them are considered by biologists to be true nuts. Nuts are an important source of nutrients for both humans and wildlife.

Almonds (badam) are one of the most nutritious nuts around. Almonds are high in protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. This nut like seed has gained quite a reputation as being a super food. You can eat it as a quick and healthy snack, or put it in your milk shakes or mix it with fresh fruits and vegetables to make a detoxifying drink.

Almonds are good sources of Vitamin A, B1, B6 and E. It is shown that Vitamin B complex along with vitamin B6 uphold hair growth. Vitamin E is a good source of antioxidants that upholds the circulation of blood to the scalp. Vitamin A is also rich in antioxidants which assist in healthy development of skin cells and membrane augmentation. Furthermore, almonds are good sources of riboflavin, iron and magnesium. They are also an integral part of low sodium heart healthy diet. An ounce serving of almonds contains 3 grams of fiber.

Aside for almond seeds that are edible, almond oil plays an important role towards hair growth. Almond oil has the same properties as olive oil. It has a thermal protection and moisturizing function. It comes in two forms the bitter form and sweet form. Both f these forms are essential for the growth of the hair.

Moreover, almond oil is important in reducing inflammation and skin softening. With these abilities, it is necessary to be used as scalp massage oil.  A massage of Almond oil mixed with Indian gooseberry (amla) juice can prevent hair loss. When you massage almond oil into the scalp, it helps to soften dead skin on scalp, clear dirt to allow the scalp to breath and also reduces irritation as a result of inflammation. This helps the hair because once the dead skins are removed from the scalp; the hair follicles are free to take in enough nutrients to foster healthy Hair Growth.

Almond oil for hair loss has been recommended by many experts. This is because of the health benefits of almonds and almond oil, for promoting healthy skin, hair and general health, which has been known for centuries. However, it is important to exercise caution while eating too many almonds since like other nuts they are high in calories.
